RESEARCH OBJECTIVES: Investigation of the structure and dynamics of biological systems with the use of the methods of system analysis and automation of scientific research.

In particular, population analysis of salmon stocks has revealed their epigenetic structure and mechanisms that maintain structure and underlie its variation and the effect of the structure on population dynamics. The staff of the Laboratory has developed and applied in the Institute's research a complex of programs for data analysis: many-dimensional regressive analysis, methods of random search, computer graphics, stochastic simulation and a system of storage and search of bibliographical data. A database on population biology of salmon has been compiled.
